Toms Trailers & Truck Sales was founded by Tom Meyer about 11 years
ago. Tom was a semi-professional
race car driver when he founded Toms Trailers. A stock car driver, Tom
still owns a race car that competes
in races throughout the mid-west. Initially, Tom manufactured
custom-designed trailers and trucks for the
racing industry. Tom later advanced to manufacturing motor homes and toter
homes which serve as
temporary homes to semi-pro and professional race car drivers and to haul
the trailers carrying their race cars. To accommodate the growing business
Tom expanded by opening a second
location, Custom Coach & RV. In addition to large rigs, the company sells
motorcycles, dirt bikes, and all terrain vehicles, commonly know as ATV's.
The Company's sales have doubled in the past year and Tom's Trailers is
now a national sales leader in its
industry. Most Race car drivers originally transported their cars in
open utility trailers. Throughout the past
decade more drivers are opting for enclosed cargo trailers for security.
Many race car drivers, particularly professional drivers, need a large
vehicle for pulling their vehicles. That's where the need for custom designed motor and toter homes
came to Tom's attention. A Toter home starts with the diesel truck that we cut off
the sleeper and then stretch the chassis so we can build living quarters on the
longer chassis. The living quarters in the toter homes are 10 to 16 feet in
length
and feature custom designed cabinetry a full kitchen, a bathroom with
shower, overhead bunk and sofa
sleepers. The homes can accommodate up to six people. In addition to
United Specialties Truck Conversions and living quarters, our company
offers a large selection of trailers by manufactures such as United
Trailers. |
